National Youth Registration Portal

Empowering Youth Development through Transparency

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has made a significant stride in implementing the National Youth Policy by launching the Guidelines for Registration and Accreditation of Youth-Focused NGOs. This new, digitized system promotes transparency and ensures all major actors in youth development operate under a clear framework.

This innovative initiative marks the first step in a series of improvements within the Ministry. The Guidelines will serve as the guiding star for a two-year pilot phase, ultimately aiming to build a critical, sustainable infrastructure for youth development in Nigeria.

I urge all youth-focused NGOs to engage with these Guidelines and contribute to this crucial project. Together, we can build a robust National Database of such organizations, paving the way for a brighter future for Nigerian youth.

Technical Partners Message

UNFPA congratulates the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for establishing this platform to meaningfully engage Youth-focused Organizations in Nigeria. This guideline will strengthen the Ministry’s coordination platform and oversight function of youth-focused NGOs in line with the United Nations principle of ‘leave no one behind’ and, towards the realization of the SDGs 2030, actualization of the outcomes of the ICPD+25, the AU agenda 2063 and, the Nigeria Roadmap to harnessing the Demographic Dividend.

Furthermore, registered youth-focused organizations will now be uniquely positioned to support youth capacity building and engagement as well as formalizing the meaningful participation of youth in community decision making by uniting their voices within their communities. Indeed, this further testifies to the Ministry’s recognition that Nigerian Adolescents and Youth as equal players in the struggle for attaining equity and social justice, promoting youth inclusion, empowerment, gender equity/equality, etc.

All existing and intending Youth-focused organizations are encouraged to utilize this guideline and leverage the opportunity it provides in improving the ease of doing business with the Ministry and in the Nigeria Youth Space. UNFPA, will work in collaboration with the Ministry to support this innovative approach to broaden the work of NGOs. UNFPA will also continue to support National efforts towards the development, empowerment and inclusion of youth in Nigeria for harnessing the Country’s Demographic Dividend, contributing to a wealthier Nigeria where no one is left behind.

Thank You.

Technical Partners Message

It’s been long time coming and its finally here.

This guideline will position Youth Development in Nigeria as a veritable platform to build the human capital needed to drive the National Economic & Development Agenda of the Federal Government. It will facilitate the needed multistakeholder collaboration necessary to activate and accelerate the coordination role of the Ministry of Youth, cluster the various stakeholders around each thematic issue of the Youth Policy. This will eventually position the Youth as the solution to our National Development as it expands the ability of the Ministry to achieve the goals and objectives of the National Youth Policy.

We therefore enjoin all youth organisations to take advantage of this as we all strive towards delivering a better Nigeria. We look forward to closely working with all partners, especially the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to achieve this.

Thank You.
